| Garmin 2720 New:
I'm pretty new here and just wanted to throw this out. I've read and heard some good remarks about the Garmin 2610 and the 2720 units which some had and sold or whatever and wish they never did. But while these units are discontinued by Garmin but still some really good units and can do things that are still way ahead of some of the current models in production. I don't won't or need XM or Bluetooth by the way. But I just wanted to say I just purchased a "new" 2720 on Amazon.com for $379. This is $600 off the original suggested retal price. While I haven't got the unit yet, should be here tomarrow, I'm looking forward in using this on my 06 FJR Yamaha and in my delivery van at work everyday delivering flowers. I usually make about 13 deliveries, (part time), and the 2720 will name the streets so I don't have to look at the screen, (great safety feature), to make sure I'm turning at the right moment, and with the multiple routing/auto sort feature, I can plug in all the addresses before the trip and it will sort them out in the order needed or how ever I choose. And I can plug in up to 50 routes! Nice!! And I just received the hardwire kit for the bike that will allow me to use an external speaker or helmet speaker because the hardwire kit has an audio out that the 2720 does not have like the 2730. Problem solved. Being water proof and the screen is backlight readable in any light with the auto dimming feature should be very good for use on the bike as well. There are many more features I haven't began to realize yet but plan on having some fun with this unit. And I'm not affiliated with Amazon or anyone selling this Garmin. So is this a good deal and is it worth it? It seems to fit my useage to a tee. Heck I bought my first one for 750$ or so, sold it for about half that - then went out and bought another one for 3xx$, so I guess I'd pay 600$ for it ![]() I am currently looking for a good condition 2730 myself so I can have one GPS doing routing and one doing wx overlays. | |
