Just got an etrex legend. A little disappointed to find out there aren't any 1:24000 quads I can download onto it. This 100000 mapsource stuff is useless. Why would they put together the 1:24 for national parks and not the rest of the state? I am sure Garmin hears it all the time, but I sent them email pleading for them to put some pressure on mapsource to get the 1:24,000 state quads, so we are looking at something similar to the USGS quads that we all buy(optimal would be to accept the NG topos, but I think I read somewhere that Magellan has cornered the market on that deal). Does anyone else know of any 1:24000 quads we can download on the Garmins? |

There are other map sources on the net. Some people here have posted links, I do not have any. I agree Garmin should provide 1:24 for the whole country. Good on ya for sending them a note. My GPS is an automotive unit, so I don't have any topos at all. Talk about useless hiking in the back country! |

I've asked Garmin the same thing. This won't help you since you already bought the Etrex, but Delorme's PN-20 has 1:24000 quad maps of the US. to the site!
