Garmin software

I am new at using a GPS and wanted to know if and how I could get around getting a copy of Topo with out spending alot of money for it. I got the Gps at Walmart for $35.00 and want to use it once in a while for hiking on trails in Pa. Any info would be great!

How much money are you looking to spend? Garmin's topo 2008 is only 79$:

GPS Discount, Inc. sells name brand GPS receivers, fishfinders, marine chart plotters and topographical mapping software along with other outdoor items.

You may be able to find a version of the older maps for less $, but if you want to use this somewhere today - and want the current info - your best bet is buy something like the above, and a data card to put it on depending on what type of unit.

35$ is a pretty good price for a Garmin GPS, what unit is it?

I am looking for some type of software that I can pick out trails on and put them on my gps from PA.
