Operating a second GPS on one copy of Mapsource

I currently own a fully un-locked Garmin Quest that was purchased new and came with the normal version of Mapsource. I am thinking of buying a second GPS (a 2610 or another Quest) and see some on Ebay that do not include a copy of Mapsource (and thus are much cheaper). I am tying to deterimine if I will be able to load my detailed maps, routes and POI's from my current version of Mapsource to the second GPS or will I have to buy more un-lock codes that will make the Ebay deal more expensive in the end; anybody know or have done this?

Thanks in advance.
Jay

Re: Operating a second GPS on one copy of Mapsource

Mapsource is free. Only the maps cost anything. A common source of confusion.

If you have unlocked maps from different sources, they all work with a single Mapsource program.

You won't be able to load maps from one unit to the other, but all the tracks, waypoints and routes will be able to be moved. Assuming the destination unit accepts downloads.

By the way, welcome to the board!
