Gpxfix

Does Garmin have something similar to TT's Gpsfix? I just got a Garmin 760 and also own a TT720. My wife uses the TT and I will be using the Garmin.

I was using a Explorist XL by Magellan. But I really liked the wife's TT. I did however want the Trip info Screen on the Garmin.

The Garmin sometimes takes 5 min or more to locate its self first thing in the morning. The TT is ready just about as soon as it is turned on. I was thinking that is because every time it is connected to the computer it downloads that Gpsfix. I may be wrong though. But I have taken to turning on the Garmin long before I am going to use it.

Re: Gpxfix

5 minutes? I see you commented in the 660 thread - have you tried resetting the unit? Does the unit have a clear view of the sky?

I am not familiar with the Gpsfix that TT has - but in my knowledge Garmin doesen't have that. It does however know where you turned it off and on at - and unless you're driving hundreds of miles after shutting it off , it should sync up pretty quickly.
