| Unregistered 2820 ... am I screwed? I have a Garmin 2720 that has ver 8 maps and is completely registered. No problem. But I also have a 2820 with ver 8 maps, and this unit is NOT registered. I just realized that I have carelessly lost the yellow coupon with the registration number on it. ![]() Stupid!!! ![]() If I order a 2008 "update" disc with unused unlock codes, will I be able to update both of my units? Or will there be an issue with the 2820 that is not registered with Garmin? TIA for your time. ![]() Please advise, - Joe |

Just an update... I called Garmin and they gave me my registration number, so now both of my units are registered. Yippee. ![]() Also as an FYI: Garmin no longer allows one disc to update two units. |

WOW, they really don't permit you the 2 unit rule anymore huh? Darn them!! That is what I was going to say when I read your other post but never made it back to check my v8 maps to confirm, glad I didn't wing it ![]() Also glad to hear you've got the 2820 running well, thats a nice unit. |

Hey Max. ![]() Not only did I get my 2820 registered, but Garmin is sending me a free update. Woohoo! But yea...no more sharing updates between 2 units. The good news is that Garmin is letting lots more vendors and retailers sell their updates. There's a couple of guys on eBay selling updates for under $60 to your door. Not too shabby. BTW, I'm a BMW rider as well. I have an '06 GT. LOVE IT! Headed back out to the leftcoast at the end of April ... can't wait! This snow and ice sucks! Take care. - Joe |

I ran in to the 1 disc per unit as well. I wanted to get the update for my 660 and 76CSx but Garmin insists I buy 2 update discs!

If I were going cross continent that GT might have gotten my funds though, some really nice creature features there. This is my first beemer though, so I had to get the GS as it's just an icon to me and I've wanted one forever. Now I hope I can keep it forever and only add to the collection from here Don't get me started on this weather buisness... | |
