MapSource for 260W

It seems that some units come with MapSource and some don't. Is that right? I have an Unlock code, and through some research, seem to have gotten something of a hack, that shows MapSource. However, it doesn't seem like I have much functionality with this.
Thanks all for the help.

Re: MapSource for 260W

Yes that's right. Some come with a stripped down version of Mapsource for backing up waypoints and tracks. It doesn't have any map data in it though.

The 660 I have came with City Nav pre-loaded, but no CD version. I already had Mapsource from other Garmin products I own but I went ahead and had Garmin send me a CD version of the software on the 660.

Mapsource itself is free. It's the map data that costs and requires the unlock codes.

Re: MapSource for 260W

Can you tell me please then how to get the MapSource? I'm assuming that the unlock code I have will work to open this up once I get it?
Thanks,

Mapsource itself can be downloaded from the Garmin website, here. Third link is Mapsource.

Again, Mapsource is free and does not need to be unlocked. But it won't function unless you have an unlocked Garmin map product.
