C330 Base Map & 2008 Map (Both?)

I used Garmin City Navigator North America 2008 to update my Garmin C330. Everything went OK, but when I go to Map>Map Info, it shows:
City Navigator North America
City Navigator North America
Each one has a check mark box before it that I can check or uncheck. Are they both supposed to be checked? Am I using the 2008 version "over" the version that came with the unit? Nowhere on any menu or screen does it display anything that tells me I am using the 2008 version. Can anyone help?

It sounds like the C330's base map didn't update and it created a second map file with the 2008 data. I think you need check marks next to each set of map data so it uses both.

If what you say is correct, would I be better off trying to update the base map rather than using both, or is it the same thing?

If both are checked, it should be displaying the latest map info. Or you could try the update again to see if it will update the base map. It should, I think. My Nuvi 660 can update it's basemap. Try Garmin's tech support email and see if the C330 basemap is update-able.
