I have read that it stops at 50 locations. No idea about distance.

That's what I thought too on the dupes! I did try some other searches, e.g. University of Denver, that came up very fast. Maybe it's case by case. Hmmm.

Re: Nuvi 260 vs 350 which one?

Did you come to any conclusions on which model to buy? I'm looking at the same two devices. My biggest concern is that the x50 models will be discontinued before the x60 models. Does anyone know if that's true?

I'm also looking at the 660 because it's only $110 more. Could someone tell me how much they love the traffic info? I currently do not own any GPS device and I'm looking at purchasing my first one for a trip to D.C.

One other question will both the 350 and 260 come with the v9 2008 maps if purchased new today? Do you automatically get to download map updates every year?

Re: Nuvi 260 vs 350 which one?

If you live in an area with traffic coverage, and commute on the highways during the busier hours of the day you'll come to appreciate the traffic

The x50 to x60 is how Garmin designates their units included feature sets. The 2x,3x,6x,7x,8x are the various models with the 3's being the first iteration of nuvi and 8's are the latest. Whether or not they are discontinuing making one or the other isn't really known.

I'd get a 650 , as they are 300$ @ costco.com right now

Any truly new unit will certainly have the v9 maps. My 260 purchased in December did. But you won't get updates for free. I don't know about how they are available, but my intent is to get any update I buy on DVD so I have it in MapSource on my PC too.

Thanks for the info. I think I will renew my costco membership. $300 for the 650 is only $50 more than the 260 on amazon.

Sure thing, here is the link, it definitely seems like a better deal...

Costco - $299.99 After $100 Off Garmin Nüvi 650 GPS 4.3" Touch Screen Display

The sale runs till March 11, but I suspect they'll be out of them long before that.

Also Amazon has the 660 for $369. I decided to go with that one since it includes the traffic info. For $50 more it seemed like a better deal.
