Zumo 550 Altitude

Rumor has it, Garmin is currently beta testing a software update that brings altitude display to the Zumo 550! Supposed to be released in the next month or so.

Wow, and breadcrumbs?

I bet the evil part is that the 450 will get it first probably

Re: Zumo 550 Altitude

Well it happened!!!! Zumo now has an altitude feature on it. The new update is pretty cool. Need to play with it more but also like the fact that you can now pan the map.

Ken

Thanks again Andy for posting about the update!

Re: Zumo 550 Altitude

With the updated firmware, on the GPS information screen, it will show your current altitude above sea level. It didn't display it in the earlier revisions.

Now if they would just let you display it on the main map screen, like the StreetPilot 26xx/27xx/28xx....

Even with the update, you won't get an altimeter. The altitude it does now display is the GPS altitude and not related to pressure.
