Streetpilot 2620 Map Updates

I wanted to upgrade my version 5 maps with the latest maps so I bought City Nav North America v. 8. I have a 2 gig card in the gps. When I attempt to transfer maps to GPS I get a message that says I only have 718mgs available. It appears to be adding maps to the existing v.5 maps, not replacing them.

Maybe I'm doing it all wrong. Can someone advise how to replace old maps with new ones.

Thanks,

Bob

Try manually clearing the memory card first?
