RUBBER COMING UNGLUED ON HAND HELD??

Thanks for taking time to view my posting. I have a Garmin Legend Cx hand held GPS and have had it for 1 1/2 years, I bought it at Pro Bass in Grapevine Texas. Warranty has expired and Pro Bass would have would have been able to help me up to one year of purchase. Garmin also only warranty is 1 year also. The problem I have is that the rubber portion that wraps around the entire hand held gps is coming unglued. The operating buttons are on that part of the rubber wrap. Has any one out there had this experenci and if so, how did you fix the problem? What type of good glue would you recommend I use? I was going to e-mail Garmin, but from what I read in many fourms, they are slow in responding and more so if my warranty is expired, so I am going to try to fix it my self. Any help would be appreciated. Having this GPS the way it is, is compared to have a nice car with out a steering wheel....lol..... Thanks in advance.....ED

Re: RUBBER COMING UNGLUED ON HAND HELD??

Email Garmin. They have always responded with 24 hours to any email I've sent.

I think any type of glue that says it works on plastic and rubber would work fine. Maybe something for crafts or rubber cement.

Re: RUBBER COMING UNGLUED ON HAND HELD??

Thanks for your reply. I called Garmins 1-800 number and they were nice enough to have me mail it to them and they are going to repair it at no cost to me. I think that is wonderful of Garmin, cause my gps is 1 1/2 year old. Thanks for your tip .....Ed in North Texas..... God Bless you all........

Re: RUBBER COMING UNGLUED ON HAND HELD??

I had to send my 76S in for service once (internal battery died) and they replaced the entire case for free just because of slight blemishes in the corners from a RAM cradle.

Garmin has top notch customer service.
