Hi,
I have a Triton 300 that I just purchased a few days ago. While getting familiar with it I noticed that the sunrise/sunsets are wrong for my area (est). Today the unit said sunrise was at 5:15 and sunset was at 7:21.
I double checked and todays sunrise was 6:12 and sunset was 8:21.
Anyone have any ideas on resetting this?

I have two questions for ya.

1. Can updates be downloaded or do I have to order a CD? Or is it even worth bothering with?

2. With the most recent updates, does the unit announce the street names with the turn directions?

Bought a Garmin 255W the other day and am taking that sucker back! The audio is terrible and it says "turn here", giving no room to correct. So much for the ability to "keep your eyes on the road and your ears on the GPS" navigation:thumbd:.

Any suggestions/recommendations welcome.

Regards,

Newbie Question about maps

I have the Triton 1500. It comes with a very basic map. I also though have the National Geographic map for my state which is a topo map. I have an upcoming backpack trip and entered waypoints and a route using the National Geographic software and then downloaded them to my triton. They do show up but without any detail from the topo maps. The built-in map that shipped with the unit only shows major roads and no topo information.

Is this because the NG maps cannot be downloaded to the Triton or am I doing something wrong? I've also had it complain at times that there is no room on my SD card yet it is empty.

Thanks in advance!

Updates for Roadmate 2000

Hi All, Just joined the forum today. We're currently residing in NM, but are on vacation in Hudson, Florida.

Our Roadmate 2000 is 6-8 years old and my wife likes it quite well. However, I can't find that it has any updates, so it's rather outdated.

We also have a Roadmate 700, which was a great piece in it's day, but it needs updating also. I have found updates for it. However, it is rather large and bulky, making it sort of inconvenient in that respect.

So, my question, I guess, is if there is no update to the 2000, should we update the 700 or simply purchase a new unit?

Any input appreciated.

Regards,

My sportrak only shows the hourglass when powered up. I have placed it in an open area and clear sky. I appears to be seeing the satelites but never locks into the location. It has tried breifly but the arrow just flashes. Is there a way to correct this?

Magellan Sportrak Pro Wiring Woes

Does anyone have a Sportrak they'd be willing to crack open for me? Mine recently quit, and after opening it up I found the wires from the batteries had broken away from the PCB. During inspection, two more from the data port came off as well. Very poor solder connections.

So here I am with six spots on the PCB labeled T, R, B, G, G, E, and four disconnected wires. If someone would pop their unit open and let me know where these things are supposed to go, I'd really appreciate it.

I have tried "Technical Support" (what a joke) and was told that since my unit is SOOOOO old, they just have no idea what to tell me. What a crock.

Thanks folks.
